Claire Walmsley Griffiths was born in Blackpool and studied Fine Art with dark room practice at Northampton University graduating in 2001. Her photography explores psychology of place and people. Photographing a number of arts based performance projects in Blackpool she met a Nina, a "retired performer" and "foot juggler" inspiring the Arts Council Funded series The #retiredperformers project a series of portraits of performers with connection to Blackpool in and prior to the 70's.
